Abstract:

CATALASE (CAT) IS AN IMPORTANT ENZYME OF OXIDOREDUCTASE FAMILY WHICH CATALYSIS H2O2 DEGRADATION. FOR IMPROVEMENT OF IT’SBIOCATALYTIC EFFICIENCY COULD USE DESIRABLE IMMOBILIZATION STRATEGY. IN THE RECENT YEARS NANOMATERIALS HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED FOR THIS PURPOSE. MULTI WALLED carbon nanotubes (MWCNTS) ARE ONE OF THE MOST COMMON NANOSTRUCTURES THAT HAS BEEN WIDELY USED REGARDS TO ENZYME IMMOBILIZATION [1]. IN THIS WORK, FIRSTLY TO ENHANCEMENT OF EFFICIENT INTERACTION BETWEEN CAT MOLECULES AND IMMOBILIZING MATRIX, AQUEOUS MWCNTS SUSPENSION WERE SONICATED AT 70OC FOR 20 MINUTES AND WERE DRIED UNDER IR LAMP. THEN 3 ML OF 2MG/ML FUNCTIONALIZED MWCNTS SUSPENSION IN DIMETHYLFORMAMIDE (DMF) WERE DROPPED ON GLASSY carbon ELECTRODE (GCE) SURFACE AND WAS ALLOWED TO DRY UNDER ROOM TEMPERATURE. THEN MWGNTS/GCE WAS IMMERSED IN CAT SOLUTION (0.02 MPBS, PH 7.0) FOR 5 HOURS. FINALLY, THE CAT/MWCNT/GCE WAS INVESTIGATED FOR IMMOBILIZATION BY CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY METHOD. THE CYCLIC VOLTAMMOGRAM EXHIBITED A PAIR OF WELL-DEFINED QUASI-REVERSIBLE PEAKS CORRESPONDING TO THE FE(III)/FE(II) REDOX COUPLE IN THE ACTIVE SITE OF CAT. THE FORMAL POTENTIAL (EO’) WAS 0.072 V VS. AG/AGCL (CATHODICAND ANODIC PEAKS AT -0.185 AND 0.041 V, RESPECTIVELY) IN 0.05 M PBS, PH 7.0. THE KNOWLEDGE GAINED FROM THIS REPORT OFFER SIMPLE WAY TO FUNCIONALIZATION AND IMMOBILIZATION OF ENZYMES ON MWCNTS. CAT/MWCNT/GCE COULD USE FOR DIRECT ELECTROCHEMISTRY STUDIES AS WELL AS THIRD GENERATION BIOSENSOR TO H2O2 DETERMINATION.

Abstract:

In this work the Raman spectroscopy investigation of nanotube defects created by irradiation of Ar+ -ions with various energies and doses is presented. In order to get more informative data, SEM and TGA analysis was added. Sheet resistivity of samples also measured with standard four point probe technique. From the results, it is evident that the intensity ratio of "D band" at around 1300 cm-1 to the intensity of "G band" at 1590 cm-1, relative intensity of D to G bands increases with enhancement of the irradiation dose. Comparing the intensity ratio ID' /IG (D’ band is assigned to the lattice defects which occur inside the graphene atomic layer and induces a break in the 2D translational symmetry ) with ID/IG tend to decide D' band treated as a defect. Electrical measurements show that resistance of samples increases with enhancement of irradiation dose, clearly due to creation of more defects.

Abstract:

Nanofluids are the heat transfer fluids having remarkable thermal properties. The paper presents the experimental analysis of thermal conductivity, density, specific heat and viscosity of Multiwalled carbon nanoparticles dispersed in water at various temperatures and particle concentrations. To examine the forced convection heat transfer of Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)-water nanofluid, the assessment of thermophysical properties are necessary. The two-step method was used to prepare the nanofluids with gum arabic surfactant. The thermophysical properties were measured using different volume concentrations (i. e. 0 – 0. 9 vol. %) of nanoparticles and various temperatures (i. e. 30° C to 70° C). The thermal conductivity, specific heat, density and viscosity were measured with the help of KD2 Pro Thermal Property Analyser, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, KEM-DA 130N-Portable density meter, Brookfield LVDV-III ultra-programmable viscometer. The experiment found an enhancement in thermal conductivity and specific heat with rise in temperature whereas viscosity and density decreases with increase in temperature. On the other hand the thermal conductivity, viscosity and density increases with increase in MWCNT’ s concentration but the specific heat was found to diminish with a rise in particle concentration.

Abstract:

A sulfamethoxazole (SMX)-molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was fabricated by polyphenylenediamine. The composite prepared by the fabricated SMX-MIP and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (OH-functionalized type) was used for modification of a carbon paste electrode. The cyclic voltammetry technique was employed to follow the electrochemical attitude of SMX on the prepared electrode and to determine the optimized conditions for using the sensor in the SMX analysis. Differential pulse voltammetry technique was used to evaluate the figures of merit, selectivity, and application of the developed electrode in SMX determinations. The latter investigations revealed the linearity attitude of the investigated sensor in the range 1.0×10-6–9.0×10-3 mol/L of SMX (with the LOD 4.5×10-7 mol/L and the RSD of 3.45%). The validation of the method was checked by independent HPLC analysis of the assessed real samples.
